Diane Buffington
Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Diane grew up in Huntsville Alabama. She has a BFA from the University of Alabama with a major in painting and graphic design. She moved to Atlanta Georgia and began a career in advertising and was the Creative Director of the Buffington Rizzo ad agency for 25 years. The company was listed among the top 50 ad agencies in Atlanta as well as number 18 in women owned businesses by the Atlanta Business Chronicle from 1990 to 2004.
Retiring in 2007, Diane began to paint seriously. She says there are similarities in her paintings to advertising art. Her objective is to tell a story, ask a question or involve the viewer at some emotional level. Her subjects often focus on human relationships and have a realistic appearance with sureal aspects. She has participated in regional art shows and gallery shows in the Southeast and painted in an artists co-op and gallery.
In March of 2014 Diane Opened the Wild Hope Art Gallery. It features the work of more than 30 artists including painters, potters sculptors and jewelry artisans. Wild Hope is dedicated to the premise that life is better when ideas, thoughts and memories are enhanced with original art.
